Jayce Uyi Foundation - For the called

Here Am I, Send Me”

(Isaiah 6:8)

"Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, today we reflect on a calling that lies at the very heart of the gospel — the call to be missionaries, both near and far. This is not a task for a chosen few, but a commission for every believer. The Great Commission was not a suggestion; it was a command. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8

The Heart of God is Missional
From Genesis to Revelation, we see a God who seeks the lost, heals the broken, and desires all people to come to the knowledge of truth. The mission of God — Missio Dei — is not a human idea, but God's plan to redeem His creation. When we talk about missions, we are talking about aligning our hearts with God's own heartbeat.

The Mission Field is All Around Us

It does not always mean going overseas

Missionary work does not always mean going overseas — though that is a vital calling. It means stepping out of our comfort zones. It could be the unreached people group across the ocean, but it could also be your neighbor, your coworker, the child in the street, or the prisoner in jail. If they have not heard the hope of Christ, that is your mission field.

Why We Must Go

People are hurting. The world is filled with spiritual hunger, conflict, poverty, and injustice. Jesus said in Matthew 9:37, “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.” There are places where no church exists, no Bibles are read, and no one is there to say, Jesus loves you. If we do not go, who will? We Are All Sent Ones You may not be able to go across the world, but you can pray. You can give. You can encourage. And some of you — God is calling you to go. Don't ignore that call. The Church is not a place we come to; it's a people who are sent. Conclusion: When God asked, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah didn't ask for details. He simply said, “Here am I. Send me.” That is the posture we are all called to have. Today, let us open our hearts and ask: Lord, how can I be part of Your mission? Send or Go
